Rain
And today as I left from my coaching and stepped outside to feel the cool breeze on my face, blowing the strands, a bit irritating yet soothing. Ohh...it was raining...though not heavily but yes I could feel those tiny droplets on my face. I rushed to find a shelter as everybody else did. And in that short lapse of time I spent in the shelter of mine – I observed- the roads and the trees, the buildings and the bricks and the towers and shops and the twigs – every bit around was shining iridescently as if radiating the bliss of rain. As the educated class was seen running to find shelters, our little friends were cheerfully dabbling themselves in the splashes.
Sun also did find shelter behind the clouds but seemingly was not as afraid as we were. In a blink of an eye, these precipitated vapours pouring from sky to earth had rejuvenated every being around- a blessing of God.
And then my mind wondered – if rain is such a beautiful bliss, why do we really run away from it? why are we so afraid to let those cool droplets embrace our face, to tickle our souls, to harmonise our mind with this beautiful phenomenon of nature. Is it because in every shower, we perceive a storm, a storm of thoughts or may be forced perception. May be.
Because we are afraid of being carried away by the storms, those splashes of water terrify us rather than making us feel merry. May be that’s what our perception is. We live in a fear, a constant fear and we are taught since era of stone to hide, to hide ourselves, our thoughts, our beliefs, our very essence. Why ?
And a realisation dawned upon me. Devoured by the shades of grey, we forget to ride the tides of charm. The ephemeral griefs conquer us may be.
Why? You don’t need to hide yourself. Have faith in yourself. Step outside. Let those little drops of hope embrace you, let your joys fly, place yourself in the orbit of happiness because every rain is not a storm my dear. Let not fear rule your soul. Your perception defines your living. Rain is a teacher- it teaches us to shed away dust of past, to rejuvenate for a brighter future. Why don’t we awaken that child of us who wants to explore the rain? Are we too educated to do so? If so, was that the aim of education? Certainly not.
The mesmerising beauty of nature is the real bliss. Step out of those artificially cooled cubicles, feel the cool breeze, capture those tiny droplets, let your umbrella of rules rest for a day. Let Nature embrace your soul; feel the chirping of birds and giggles of children. This innocence is the food for soul. This is your love
Why perceive it as a fear in shackles of materiality?
And yes, I did step out, and I felt it – The real bliss- the blessing of God – Life!
